Art Instructor, Tacoma: Cayla Raymaker

**Cayla is flying south for the summer on May 20th. She’ll be back in the fall of 2017! **

Cayla is a scenic painter, designer, and muralist with a BFA in Theatre Design and Production (2014) from Central Washington University. Cayla was born and raised in San Jose, California where she developed a love for theatre and performance as early as age 6. She first began to apply her creative and visual assets to her work in the theatre industry when she was asked to paint a flat for a production of Oliver! at a local community theatre at age 15. Since, Cayla has completed contracts with organizations such as the Seattle Repertory Theatre, the Cincinnati Opera, and SeaWorld. She hopes to use what she’s learned as a professional artist to inspire others to pursue creative careers by one day becoming an educator in the arts. In her free time, Cayla designs and sells her own jewelry online, enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors, and has been commissioned to paint private murals and local business signs in her hometown of Poulsbo, Washington. In the near future, Cayla looks forward to attending grad school in pursuit of an MFA in Theatre Arts while continuing to further her interest in working with children with the Girl Scouts of Northern California.
